USC Teams Take First and Second Place In The 2005 SEC Alumni Clubs Golf Tournament

Teams representing the University of South Carolina took first and second place in the 2005 SEC Alumni Clubs golf tournament, held October 23 at Westchase Golf Club. Although Hurricane Wilma was heading towards the southern part of Florida that day, the bad weather held off long enough to allow completion of the tournament. Gamecock alumni Barry Metz and Terry Prugh, along with team members John Custalow and Dennis Kute, took first place, while Gamecock alumnus Stephen Harkey, along with Kim Harkey, Todd Patterson and Tim Klei took second place. Stephen Harkey also took home the prize for the longest drive.

The tournament raised $2000 for Help-A-Child, a non-profit organization that provides specialized services to encourage and promote safe, healthy, children and families who are free from abuse.

A great showing for the Gamecock teams! We would look forward to more participation next year.
